Absolutely delicious, but the portion was too small.

A really delicious restaurant! From the moment we entered, we felt the warm welcome from the staff. The service was also incredibly kind and friendly. Since we were dining on a birthday, they even provided complimentary dessert! We were so happy! The oyster 🦪 had a perfectly balanced flavor and you could taste the sweetness of the seafood. Smalls dish- Japanese scallop $26: Scallops with cauliflower, also very delicious. Citrus kingfish $27: The presentation and colors were gorgeous, perfect for taking photos, haha, and it tasted amazing too! If I had to choose one, I personally preferred the scallop! Main dishes- Spanner crab, squid ink spaghetti, pastrami $39: The squid ink spaghetti was super delicious! It even had an extravagant shell, perfect for photos 😆 Paccheri, duck ragu, rosemary, black olive $49: A very flavorful and generously portioned pasta dish! Sweets Tiramisu, chestnut, tonka bean, marscapone $15 My partner and I thought the tiramisu was delicious! The changes in texture and flavor were noticeable, and it was much better than what we've had at other restaurants!

Great food and atmosphere. Kate and Rachel are amazing and made our ALT experience something to remember. Highly recommend! Will be back soon!

I had the lunch set meal. The crab pasta had a unique and delicious seasoning. The tomato was a bit ordinary, but still pretty good! The service was excellent. A very nice restaurant!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The place has a warm and welcoming feel, with a lovely interior and a relaxed setting. The staff were friendly and the service was great. A nice spot to enjoy a meal and spend some time with friends or family.

Had a lovely dinner with my partner at ALT Pasta Bar, a small and intimate upscale Italian restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the owner when we arrived, and throughout the meal she was very attentive and genuinely passionate about the food. Each dish was explained to us in detail, including the ingredients and preparation, which added a nice personal touch to the experience. The restaurant was quite busy when we visited, and all the table seats were already reserved, so we ended up sitting at the bar counter. If you’re planning to visit, I would definitely recommend booking in advance if you prefer a proper table. We started with the complimentary toasted bread, then ordered several dishes to share. Crab & Squid Ink Pasta — 5/5 😍 Definitely the highlight of the evening and the best dish we had that night. The pasta had a great texture, with the crab and octopus bringing plenty of flavour and depth. This is the dish I would come back for. Beef Short Ribs — 4/5 Tender and nicely cooked, with a sweet honey-style glaze. Very enjoyable, although the sweetness was slightly stronger than my personal preference. Beef Tartare — 4/5 A solid dish with good freshness and texture. I particularly enjoyed eating it together with the crispy cracker, which added a nice contrast. Citrus with Kingfish — 2/5 This was probably the weakest dish for me. The ingredients were fresh, but the citrus flavour and the kingfish didn’t quite work for my palate. This is very much a personal preference, though. The restaurant itself is quite small, with a cosy atmosphere, but the space can feel a little cramped, especially around the narrow walkway. There is a toilet available inside the restaurant. Overall, ALT Pasta Bar offers a more intimate and personalised dining experience, with genuinely attentive service and some very well-executed dishes. The Crab & Octopus Ink Pasta was the standout for me, and I would definitely recommend trying it. Just remember to book ahead if you want a table rather than a seat at the bar.

Must go place in melbourne. staff and service was great, selection of food and drinks from the menu , veg option is also great . the food was delicious , .. worth it, especially the bread and butter and all the pasta dishes for sure come back if back in melbourne again

Really good pasta and huge servings! Their lunch deal is great value. We had the Mushroom Truffle butter pasta 🍝 which was amazing. The Morton bay bug pasta was also good (sauce was amazing), though the big could have had more taste?? Entrees were extremely generous - we had the scallops and beef tartare. Oh, did we mention that the Potato bread and Miso butter are to die for? Wish they gave seconds!
