The Sanderson Sydney

We have really enjoyed the Sanderson in the past but last night was not a good experience. The service was very ordinary & we had 3 different waiters none really on the ball. Our main meals were slow to come out. They did apologize for this. Maybe our order was lost in the kitchen. When the meals food come. My friend said her duck was lovely however my husband’s flank was cold & chewy. The wait staff told him the chef had said that’s what flank steak is like! I had the fish which was overcooked extremely burnt to the point there was very little fish meat. Overall a disappointing experience.

I’m a corporate customer and probably attend three restaurant venues a week for business. I took three clients here the other week for a Thursday lunch, and we were the only booking in the place. I think it’s a bit unfair to have to provide your card details for a cancellation policy only to find the restaurant completely empty. I was a tad embarrassed in front of my clients. Since we were the only customers, I'm going to give it to you straight: the steak was overcooked and the duck was really chewy. Also, the sides were incredibly stingy—for $16 you get just two quartered carrots. I was really disappointed, especially since we deferred our Mr. Wong booking for this. Given the high ratings online, maybe we were just unlucky, but it wasn't a great experience.

Enjoyed the delicious food, great steaks & wine list. Highly recommended

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Visited The Sanderson recently and had a really enjoyable experience. The venue has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that's great for catching up with friends or enjoying a meal. The food was fresh, well presented, and full of flavour, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. The staff made us feel welcome without being overbearing, and everything arrived promptly. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. I'd happily return and would recommend The Sanderson to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in the area.

Where do I start - from the minute you step into the door, you are welcomed and treated with so much warmth and top tier hospitality. Sam and his team create such an inviting environment which makes every minute dining at the Sanderson a delight. The food is incredible - just brilliant, fresh, well crafted dishes. Not obnoxiously complex - each dish strikes a perfect balance of flavour and elegance. Huge thank you to the chefs, Howie and the kitchen staff for the passion and love they spill into every bite. We love the aged duck, the steak (some of the best in Sydney), the potatoes (INSANE), carbonara tart and the desserts - too many good bites to choose from, you honestly cannot go wrong with whatever you pick.

Great place for a date or a special occasion. The atmosphere is elegant, and the service is outstanding from start to finish. The food was good, but it’s not the kind of steakhouse that stands out because of premium ingredients or exceptional cooking. What makes this place special is the experience. The welcome drink is served in their signature horn-shaped cup, and before your steak arrives, you’re invited to choose your favourite knife from a selection. Don’t miss the Irish coffee. Watching the bartender prepare it is a fun show and a perfect way to end the meal.

We came as a family of 5 for the first time and it was really lovely. Firstly, it looked beautiful and they sat us in a booth overlooking the city. We had preordered the lobster pasta and the crab and it was cooked perfect, and so tasty. The steak we had was also cooked perfect and was delicious. We loved all the starters were had and the oysters were super yummy. The music was a bit loud, I asked them to turn it down a tad and they did, so nice of them! It was a lovely night. Thank you!
