GRAND HOSTEL LDK SAPPORO

Everything was great, but I ended up with the wrong roommate. I wish the hostel would take action against people like this.. I don't know if they were drunk, but they came in at dawn, turned on all the lights, reeked of alcohol, snored like crazy, and fell asleep immediately. I was out on tours so I didn't have time to tell the staff. Sigh.. The price, location, and facilities were all good.

great for solo travelers. if walking a few blocks from Susukino isnt a problem, this is it. the area is quiet. there's a seicomart and 7 eleven nearby. two common areas are available to guests. they religiously clean the rooms at 9am or 10am. wifi is good at all spots.

Apart from the beer, the food is good, the room is very nice.

Stay Mid May 2026. The female dormitory is clean, there provide humidifier and heater in room. You have to change the bedsheet, pillow cover, duvet yourself. Towel, toothbrush, earplug, razor is provided. There are chiller & freezer to keep your food. Even have the kitchen of you want to cook. Coffee and tea free allday.

I'm surprised that a man and a woman share the same room with the same lock. It feels like someone could peek in through the gap in the curtains.

Good hotel. The capsules are bigger than usual and there are separate toilets and shower rooms. There are also living rooms and kitchen areas on the 3rd and 10th floor. The toiletries are free but you have to pay for the towels, slippers, and lounge wear. They also lend bicycles for free for two hours, 500 yen for 5 hours, and a thousand beyond that. I find that really convenient. My only bad experience in this hotel is that some people could be inconsiderate. I stayed here for five nights and was only able to sleep without interuptions for two because my roommates come back later than 10 pm and just then will fix their luggage and go about their businesses without any regard for the people sleeping. Some will even still talk with each other. P.S. They also charged me 500 yen extra for each day I was here. I was here for 5 days so you can do the math. I guess it’s for the electricity, water consumption, etc. The receptionist talked to me in straight Japanese and I couldn’t catch everything and I was too tired to clarify. All good.

We stayed in a private room during our Golden Week trip. The security was excellent, giving us a sense of security. The rooms and common areas were clean and comfortable, but surprisingly, despite being a reinforced concrete building, we could hear snoring and doors opening and closing from the next room. Nevertheless, we were able to sleep without any problems. Since we were traveling with a child of the opposite sex, the private family bath (a regular unit bath) was a great help! All the staff were very impressive! There were guests of various nationalities staying there.

Located less than a 10-minute walk from Susukino, Sapporo's busiest entertainment district, the hostel enjoys a quiet location. There are supermarkets nearby, including an Aeon-affiliated My Basket, a Tsuruha Drugstore, and a Seicomart, making grocery shopping convenient. The ramen restaurant Ebiso Ichigen Honten is also about a 5-minute walk away. The reception is on the 3rd floor, and there's only one elevator, which might be inconvenient depending on your needs. The elevator seems to be set to always stop on the 3rd floor. The kitchen lounge is located on the 3rd and 10th floors. A free coffee maker is available, which is a nice touch. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided in the shower rooms. One bath towel is provided free of charge; additional towels are available for a fee. Note that some shower toilets were broken and not working. Dormitory rooms can be hit or miss depending on who you're staying with. If you get stuck with someone who snores, you might have trouble sleeping... Also, there are many people coming and going in the middle of the night and early morning, so it might be difficult for those sensitive to noise. There are free earplugs at the front desk on the 3rd floor, but they might only be a small comfort for some. Also, the upper bunks in the dormitory rooms have creaky floorboards, which might disturb the person below. It's just a matter of being considerate. The beds are relatively wide, and mattresses are used, so the sleeping comfort isn't too bad. There are lockable boxes for valuables, but no lockers, so you need to manage your belongings yourself. Also, please note that a lodging tax has been introduced since April 2026, so those who haven't paid in advance will be charged 300 yen per night on the day of arrival!

This is absolutely unbelievable. The lock on the unisex private shower room can be easily opened from the outside. On the first day of my stay, the lock I had locked was half-open. I wondered if I had accidentally bumped it, but upon closer inspection, I realized it could be easily opened from the outside by using a coin to turn it. There are ways to prevent this, like filling the groove with putty or something, but the lack of security is unbelievable. I was staying for multiple nights, but after noticing this, I couldn't use the shower room and went to a nearby public bath. The building has 10 floors, but the floors aren't separated by gender, and there seem to be a lot of foreigners, as men walk around the corridors in just their underwear without a second thought. Women should be careful when using this facility. I will never use it again.

Beds are more spacious than I expected, also it has lots of luggage space!
