What reviewers say

Some visitors find the drag queens entertaining and appreciate the attention when the bar is not busy, with one long-time patron always satisfied. However, a common complaint is that the bar can feel unwelcoming and unfriendly, with some visitors feeling overcharged or experiencing poor service.

About this place Campy!bar

Campy! bar is a small, open-front bar in Shinjuku Ni-chome run by drag queens, and one of the easiest places in the district for first-time and foreign visitors to walk into. Drinks are cheap and strong, and there is karaoke, with a mixed crowd that spills onto the street on busy nights. Seating is very limited and you are expected to keep ordering, so treat it as a drink-and-chat stop rather than a long sit-down. Unlike many Ni-chome counter bars, there is no table charge and foreigners are welcome. It is in Shinjuku, not Shibuya as some listings say.

As a tourist, if you want to get taken for extra money you should go here! That being said, go to the other Campy! Bar at Shibuya for better service and to not get cheated out of your money.

My husband and I wanted to end our week experiencing some LGBT culture after a wonderful week in Japan. This was the first stop as we ventured through the neighborhood. It was early and we thought CB would be fun. It was not busy and we didn't feel welcomed. A first in Tokyo. The place felt unhappy. Also a first for us.
