Fire Club

Fire Club is one of Thamel's largest mainstream nightclubs, but it earns its place on the queer map for one reason: its Friday-night gay party, which for years has been the most reliable big-club LGBTQ+ night in Kathmandu. Both Nomadic Boys and TravelGay point travellers here when they want a proper dancefloor rather than the lounge feel of Pink Tiffany. The rest of the week it runs as a regular Thamel club with DJs and a young party crowd, so this is not a dedicated gay venue — go on Friday for the queer night, and expect a mixed room of locals and visitors. It sits on Chaksibari Marga in the heart of Thamel, the same small nightlife pocket as Pink Tiffany and Sam's Bar, so it is easy to combine into one night out. As with the rest of Kathmandu's scene, things start late and build after 10pm. Nepal is legally welcoming but socially conservative, so keep public affection low-key on the walk between venues.
