Lovely hotel - great rooms and very welcoming staff. Highly recommend if you want to be in the thick of Thamel action but also want a comfortable retreat close by.

The room is nice and the staff is polite, the main issue with this place is noise. I stayed for 3 nights, 2 of them I had hardly any sleep at all. If there are people in the room across the hall from your room, you will hear them when they talk. If somebody is talking IN the hall, it's like they are in your room. As it happened, on the second night a group moved into 3 rooms across of mine. I could hear clicks of their lighters as they were lighting in their cigarettes (smoking is prohibited but it didn't stop them). And ventilation works in such a way that smoke from their rooms went straight into mine, my head was aching from it. They partied untill morning. My calls to reception didn't help, they didn't do anything. The next day I asked to move to another room. The new room was facing the street, and it's a very noisy street. I raised my concern but the girl at reception assured me it's sound proofed. Well, it was fine during the day, but at night it was not. There is a night club somewhere nearby and I could hear the music from it untill 5am. Also the noise from drunken people on the street. So if you want to relax and have a quiet place to stay it's definitely not a place for you.
