Scenic Suites Queenstown

We have stayed in a number of hotels and motels oversees and in New Zealand and this property is right up there. We had a one bedroom unit with a well equiped kitchen. Lovely and bright with a good view. Resturant worth dinning at, meals superb. We are coming back.

The beautiful city view, with views of the lake and the cable car, and the tranquil and beautiful scenery outside the balcony at night, perfect for enjoying a glass of red wine and the peaceful night sky, allowing both body and mind to relax.

This hotel room has a bizarre design: one door connects two rooms, with virtually no soundproofing. You can hear the people in the next room talking as if they were in the same room—zero privacy. If you encounter noisy neighbors, you're out of luck; the hotel can only call them after 10 PM to ask them to quiet down. A terrible experience—it's like sharing a room with strangers.

Great view — easily the best part of the stay. The bed and sofa are impressively soft… to the point where my back is still filing a complaint. Front desk service deserves a special mention: poker faces included. Arrived at 11am, was firmly told check-in is at 2pm (housekeeping apparently does not accept phone calls). After 2pm, the room was still not ready, and I was informed that there is no guarantee rooms are ready by 2pm anyway. Good to know. Parking is also an adventure: front desk insists you must use the garage, which is quite some walk although you can actually park anywhere. The experience truly makes you forget that hospitality is a hospitality business — which, in its own way, makes the stay very memorable. Highly recommended if this is what you’re wishing for Christmas. Bonus points: Wi-Fi is incredibly slow.

Great hotel. Suite was fantastic with a great view over the lake and town. Food in the restaurant was lovely. Great choice for the continental breakfast.

Had a great stay here on vacation. Good sized room and bathroom. The heater in the bathroom is an amazing addition since it was cold when we arrived. Hotel is quite big so pay attention when they tell you how to get to your room. Get a room with a view if you can. Breakfast has a good assortment of items. The hotel is in a great location. No more than 10 minutes away from downtown. But be warned, the hotel is at the top of a hill, so be prepared for a bit of a climb if you come from somewhere flat.

We absolutely loved our stay and couldn’t fault a thing. We can’t wait to come back.

This is a really well located hotel with immaculately maintained rooms and friendly staff. The one fault is the inaccessibility of the rooms with various corridors and lifts to be negotiated. I would give it 4 stars as a result.

Everything is good about this hotel, except on arrival, no one helps with your luggage (travelling with family). You have to push them thru 1 lift (if u drive, at the undergrd carpark), then another lift, thru 2 corridors, 2 doors, to reach yr room. Saw another couple struggling with bags also (we were in the Remarkables rooms section). Nothing remarkable abt this DIY experience, and after a long drive or flight, your 1st impressions of the hotel takes an annoying nose dive. The reception staff were also transactional, which adds to the 'experience'. Otherwise, it is a good hotel - amenities, room, breakfast, restaurant. If the DIY issue can be sorted out, it'll be a great hotel.

Really great Suite, friendly & efficient service

We stayed 2 nights on 4th & 5th April 2026. Unfortunately not impressed with the room or service by the reception staff. When we first checked in, we had to ring reception to get some one to replace the light bulbs in the lamps. Doing the next day, we'd turned off the aircon while out but when turned on upon our return, the aircon was only blowing cold air. Phoned reception & said it wasn't working but told it would work after 10mins. After an hour, we phoned reception & said still not working. Reception said its because the sensor on air con KNEW room was didn't need aircon!!!! The room was freezing but reluctantly sent someone to have a look. She turned up & agreed it wasn't working. Even though there was LCD display on the remote, when pressing any button there was no beeping on the unit. I suggested we replace the aircon remote, but hotel had no spares. We rang reception again & said we needed blankets & would leave the bathroom heat fan on. Blankets were delivered but to us it seems reception thought we were dreaming about the aircon, even though a staff had come to check it out but told she didn't know anything. We decided to have room service, but would only charge the card I'd given them at check-in. It was my Australian visa & I wanted to use my NZ travelcard. Told I'd have to go to reception to pay before the order. Walked to the hotel restaurant to order, but even though advertised as Gluten Free options, none were available that night. A very much looked forward to stay, turned into our worst hotel stay in NZ.

Top notch property and service staff, would definitely return!
