On the edge of the Hokianga Harbour, with gorgeous views. Old wooden villa has been relocated here many years ago. Superb hospitality. Comfy beds, home cooked meals

We were lucky enough to stay in the apartment at Riverhead Lodge. Can't rate our experience highly enough. A beautifuly restored historic villa with so much character. Delicious food served on request. Our host couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Tamalene you are a star! We will be back. Mary Ruth and Theresa

A great warm and loving place to treat yourself. The dinner was absolutely supberb! The sweet kumara complimented the fish along with roasted potatoes and blanched broccoli was absolutely devine. But the star of the night was the most gorgeous fluffy date pudding and butterscotch sauce with whip cream. The breakfast was my choice two poached eggs on toast and Utakura No7 devine honey on toast. Arohanui Nikki

What a top spot this is. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully decorated and the ladies looked after us all so well. They made us all so welcomed. Showed us round and cooked up amazing dishes and told us some beautiful stories and history of the area! You will not be disappointed. We were there during our bike tour for the one night and only wished we could have stayed longer. Wanted to take both our beautiful hosts and their gorgeous dog River (whom watched over us attentively) back home with us to Melbourne, but I don't think Bubbles' family would have been to fond of me doing that!! 😆Thank you all and River🐕 for such a sensational and memorable time at Riverhead.👌👍👏👏The Bike Crew from Melbourne!

This is a wonderful place to stay and we would have liked to stay longer. The hosts were warm and inviting and they had gone out of the way to make sure that my teenage niece could stay in the same room as us. They treated her with such kindness and care. We are so grateful for the delicious food and the packed lunch was a lifesaver the next day when after we left and were on our way to Rawene our rental car got a flat tyre due to a fault on the tyre and we were stranded on the gravel back road for 4 1/2 hours. True manaakitanga. The setting is idyllic and the views amazing.

Great experience We stayed there on very short notice and the lady took extremely good care of us. She lovingly made us roast chicken and vegetables for dinner and warmly welcomed us. We also misplaced our item there and they went above and beyond to look for it. We will return if we are ever up in the North again. The villa is beautiful, clean and tidy. Highly recommend
