Riverhead Villa

An extremely beautiful neighborhood. It was a lot of fun.

Really beautiful location, picturesque brearthtaking scenery. The location is fantastic with historical bits and bobs littered around the town as well as inside the villa itself. Fans of NZ history will be delighted to see antiques refurbished and reused lovingly around the villa. At night, the stars are absolutely incredible, and it is even dark enough to see planets and whole constellations. The wildlife is exceptional, with hawks, herons, rabbits, rainbow lorakeets, and much more peppered all over the town and road. The service itself from staff is above and beyond. Hospitality, kindness, attentiveness, truly the embodiment of manaakitantaga. Extremely friendly and helpful people.

A real gem of an historic hotel. Anthony and his wife were charming and erudite hosts as well as being great cooks.

If you're looking for really exceptional accommodation in a beautiful location, this is it. Everything about the villa is done with quality, and is maintained impeccably. Our hosts were wonderful company and the dinner and breakfast were superb. It's the sort of place I'd love to stay for a week or more. Thanks so much. We'll be back.

Located in the rural community of Horeke, this elevated accommodation overlooks the upper Hokianga harbour. A great place to unwind, relax and get away from it all. Peaceful and private.

Definitely a cut above the rest, this beautiful country Villa is a 'must do'..if you are looking for a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life...then you must visit "Riverhead Villa"....its lush interior is comfort beyond compare... you will absolutely enjoy the delicious Home cooking - served with succulent Villa grown fresh vegetables and herbs - not to mention the continental breakfast served with home preserved seasonal fruits...Ange and her friendly staff are always available and flexible to ensure you are comfortable, and dont mind sharing some of the historic stories of the Villa and the areas if you so desire......oh ladies, the smell of fresh linen!! ...the boutique style rooms are a "relaxers joy" for sure, snug and clean !! what more do you want? ..as for the views of the beautiful Hokianga harbor...words can not explain, you need to be there to get where i am coming from...i reccommend, seriously check this place out... true country comfort i say..

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Riverhead Guest House. The beautiful & historic house is warm and inviting, with lovely gardens and a deck that overlooks the water. Mike is a charming host who made me feel very welcome. Thank you, I look forward to visiting again.
