Wellington Pride Festival

Wellington Pride Festival takes over New Zealand's capital every March. This is a small, walkable city with a lot of creative energy and visible queer life.

Expect a Pride Parade through the central city that finishes at the Cuba Street Rainbow Crossing, film screenings at Paramount Cinema, and a packed schedule of cultural events. Te Papa, the national museum, along with the city's galleries and performance venues, all get in on the action. The festival has roots in the 1986 Homosexual Law Reform campaign, making it one of New Zealand's longest-running Pride celebrations.
