About This Event

Cebu Pride is the Philippines’ biggest regional LGBTQ+ Pride event outside Metro Manila. It happens every May in the Visayan Queen City. Over the last ten years, it’s become a destination, pulling in people from the central and southern Philippines, and from Filipinos living abroad.

The march and festival here show off a distinct Cebuano LGBTQ+ identity. They’re proud to be different from Manila, rooted deep in the community, and have a specific Cebuano humor and warmth. It gives the event its own vibe. The march usually cuts through central Cebu City, starting or ending at a public spot in IT Park or Ayala Business Park. Expect performances, drag shows, and community stuff that keeps the party going long after the march itself.

Cebu’s drag scene is a big deal, one of the best in the Philippines. Local performers, some with national reputations, are front and center. They’re known for their quality and original acts.

Since it’s in May, Cebu Pride works well with Manila’s June march. If you have the time, you can hit both. See the full range of the Filipino LGBTQ+ scene in the country’s two main gay cities.

Pride week also makes a good excuse to see the island’s natural attractions. Think whale sharks in Oslob, sardines in Moalboal, or diving in Malapascua. There’s plenty to do beyond the Pride events.
