About this place The Stranger Bar

Located on Soi Silom 4 in Bangkok's main gay area, The Stranger Bar & Lounge is a gay bar and lounge venue founded by Sean Lestrange in partnership with local LGBTQ+ performers and advocates. The space has a casual, fun vibe and welcomes both LGBTQ+ guests and straight-friendly visitors. The venue is known for its laid-back atmosphere and signature cocktails, offering a relaxed spot to enjoy drinks and socialise in one of Bangkok's most vibrant queer neighbourhoods. Silom is Bangkok's primary gay district, packed with bars, clubs, restaurants, and venues catering to LGBTQ+ travellers and locals. Whether you're looking for a quiet drink or a lively night out, the area offers something for most tastes and energy levels. The Stranger Bar & Lounge fits into this scene as a casual, inclusive spot where you can expect a friendly atmosphere and the chance to meet both local and visiting guests. As with many venues in this category across Bangkok, you'll find a mix of music, drinks, and social opportunities. The bar's emphasis on being 'str8 friendly' reflects the welcoming, inclusive approach common in Bangkok's gay scene, where venues often attract a diverse crowd. If you're new to the area or looking for a relaxed introduction to Silom's gay nightlife, this is a neighbourhood worth exploring.

The waiters are really annoying and harass you; they just want your money.

A terrible experience. Without asking me, they took my drink—I had just come from another bar—and threw it in the trash. They didn't give it back to me, and then they said I couldn't come in. All they care about is money.
