GC Bar

Not really friendly this time around. Was there a couple of years ago and was great. Staff was not foreigner friendly. Opposite to my experience a couple of years ago. Music way too loud and crammed

No review stars but I hunted this bar out and finally found it. Opened the door and was greeted by cigarette smoke even though it was quiet on a Wednesday. I shook my head at the barman, waved my hand in front of my face and politely walked out 😩 I won't be going back after that 5 seconds I was in there as I don't want to tarnish my clothes and have to wash them straight away. Not agood start to my Hanoi holiday.

The atmosphere was like a funeral. The four waiters were lined up behind the bar instead of talking to the guests. The music was good, the prices were okay (even though they unfortunately didn't have any local beer). You could tell there was no manager, or at least a bad one. The smoking in the bar, which caused eye irritation, didn't encourage guests to stay long. The bar was recommended to us, and we were quite disappointed.

It is not the gay bar you might expect. Too many girls and straight couples. Felt very uncomfortable.

It’s a nice bar to relax and have a drink. Maybe it’s because I came on a Sunday night that I avoided the weekend crowds.

Vibes is not bad. On a Friday night, crowd starts to coming in around 9.30pm, mainly international visitors. However dj starts to blast very loud music at 10.30pm, seems the owner can't decide to offer a bar vibes for socializing or a club for dancing, 10.30 seems too early for loud music. They offer a wide range of classic cocktails, if they have some special cocktail menu, it might spices up things a bit, where I would go further to order a second or third drinks.
