BirdCage is Hanoi's underground gay club, out along Đê Quai on the southern edge of the West Lake district. Unlike the city's bars it runs on a weekend rhythm — typically Friday and Saturday nights — with deep house and dance music and a crowd that keeps going into the early hours. Gay-owned and word-of-mouth by design, it is less a polished lounge than a proper late-night dance party, so check its social media for the current schedule before heading out. It gives Hanoi something the rest of the small scene lacks: a dedicated queer dancefloor.
