Induced Lactation — Rubicon Köln (LGBT center)
About the event
This in-person training is aimed at midwives*, students, gynecologists, and other interested (professional) persons.
Induced lactation is the initiation of milk production with the help of medication and breast stimulation in people who have not previously been pregnant.
This method is increasingly in demand in (queer) family constellations – it can be a topic for parenthood through adoption or for people who recognize advantages in terms of equality in parenthood, in order to involve more caregivers in the responsibility of breastfeeding or to enjoy even closer bonding.
The training is intended to serve as a basis for advising people comprehensively on this topic. The Newman-Goldfarb schema will be presented and practical examples will be included.
The consultation should, on the one hand, thoroughly inform people about the topic and the process of induced lactation, and on the other hand, serve as a real decision-making aid in order to weigh motivation, benefits, and hurdles.
Afterwards, there should be enough time for joint exchange and to clarify questions.
