HOSI Salzburg

HOSI Salzburg — the Homosexuelle Initiative Salzburg — was founded in 1979 and is the oldest LGBTQ+ community organisation in the city. The organisation operates a community centre in Müllner Hauptstraße that provides a year-round social space for Salzburg's LGBTQ+ residents: regular events, counselling services, information resources, and the organisational infrastructure that sustains community life between Pride seasons. HOSI is the co-organiser of Salzburg Pride and the primary contact for LGBTQ+ issues in the city, engaging with local government, the media, and the broader civil society on equality matters. For gay visitors to Salzburg who want to connect with the local community rather than simply the tourist-facing scene, HOSI's events and community centre provide the access point.
