Stereo Sushi

Stereo Sushi is Antwerp's most consistently popular gay club, running Friday and Saturday nights with a programme that spans commercial house, pop remixes, and the kind of high-energy dance floor content that fills a club on a Saturday. The venue is in Pelgrimstraat — one of the streets that defines Antwerp's gay cluster in the city centre — and draws a young, mixed crowd: predominantly gay men but with a genuine lesbian and bisexual presence, and the welcoming character that makes Antwerp's gay scene notably different from the more stratified scenes of larger European cities. Stereo Sushi is not attempting to be Berghain; it is attempting to be the best gay club in Antwerp, and it succeeds. The production values are good, the DJs are professional, and the atmosphere rewards people who have come to dance. During Antwerp Pride weekend in August, Stereo Sushi's parties are among the most attended in the city. The Pelgrimstraat location makes it walkable from the city centre bars.
