Bed & Breakfast Boat
Visitors consistently praise the friendly and attentive hosts, the excellent breakfast, and the unique experience of staying on a boat in a nice environment. Some guests found the rooms to be on the smaller side, which is to be expected on a boat, but still comfortable enough for a good sleep.

Two nights on the water – and we wish we could have stayed longer! Anyone wanting to experience Ghent in a truly unique way should definitely check out this accommodation. We spent two nights on this houseboat and quickly realized: it's so much more than just an overnight stay – it's a real experience. The location is ideal. Quietly situated on the water, yet close enough to the city center to easily explore Ghent on foot. We had absolutely perfect weather during our stay, which elevated the whole experience to another level. The absolute highlight for us was the mornings on the boat. Sitting with a coffee on the small rooftop terrace, letting our gaze wander across the water, and starting the day in a completely relaxed way was incredibly calming. We were also particularly impressed by the generous breakfast basket. Fresh rolls, delicious smoothies, and many other treats were lovingly arranged. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the water was a little highlight of our vacation every morning. The boat itself is clean, cozy, and offers everything you need for a successful stay. You can immediately tell that a lot of heart and soul has gone into it. A little tip for future guests: A well-used bike path runs right past the boat. This is simply part of Ghent's charm and only adds to the city's vibrant atmosphere. If you're arriving by car, be aware that parking can require a bit of attention the first time. Fortunately, there's a dedicated parking space – which is truly invaluable in Ghent. Our advice: Park your car and leave it there. We didn't need it again during our entire stay. Ghent is wonderful to explore on foot, and around every corner, you'll find another beautiful view, a cozy café, or a historical landmark. Our conclusion: An exceptional place to stay, wonderful hosts, an excellent breakfast, and a location that's perfect for a city break. We thoroughly enjoyed our two days and will remember them for a long time. And one thing is for sure: Next time we visit, we'll bring our SUP (stand-up paddleboard). Exploring Ghent from the water, starting from this houseboat, would be the perfect addition to an already fantastic stay. A clear 5 stars and a definite recommendation! 🚤🌅
Last weekend we stayed at this B&B, and it was a truly special experience. Sleeping on a boat isn't something you do every night, after all – and that makes it extra special and a little different. The welcome was a bit impersonal: we were ushered onto the boat by phone and given a brief verbal tour of the rooms and amenities. It felt a bit like being in Escape Room: Floating Edition. Fortunately, the rooms were tidy and fully equipped, so there was nothing to complain about there. On our first night, we received an unexpected wake-up call: the smoke detector went off at 4:30 a.m., without a trace of smoke or fire. The rest of the night was a bit short because of this, but to be fair: the alarm was taken seriously, and the smoke detector was replaced the next day. The breakfast made up for a lot: a generous basket full of delicious breakfast goodies, which cheered us up. The shower and toilet share the same space, which isn't a problem in itself – although the bathroom does transform into a mini watersports area after a shower. A minor point for improvement, but perfectly manageable with a sense of humor. Final verdict: a pleasant and original stay, with a few minor quirks here and there, but definitely a place we'll look back on with a smile.
Nice, original place to stay, too bad the toilet extractor is disturbing and it is very bright inside in the morning. Good breakfast.
In the heart of Ghent, just a few minutes' walk from the charming city center, lies De Boot. An oval bed, shower and toilet, television, Wi-Fi, and a refrigerator in the living room. And not to forget... Comfortable seating on the foredeck with three chairs. On the foredeck, you can enjoy a glass of bubbly while small boats sail by and you float high above the water. Highly recommended, right next to Ghent's old city center.
Great experience to have once. Sleeping on a houseboat. It certainly didn't disappoint, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The only downside was that the toilet and shower are very close together, so the toilet gets wet when you shower. Super friendly and hospitable host. The boat is a 10-minute walk from the city, so that is ideal.
It's not far from the city center. The rooms are not well-maintained. Breakfast was delicious!
