In August 2024, we arrived to a dirty and neglected room: bloodstains on the walls, dust in the corners, marks on the furniture, broken picture frames, dents in the walls, and curtains with holes and dampness when we arrived. We filed a complaint, but the hotel replied that no action would be taken since these issues didn't disrupt sleep, which is supposedly the primary function of a room... everyone has their own perspective, but given the lack of care in the room and the hotel's response to these problems, I strongly advise against staying there.

The Hotel is just few corners away from the tourist attractions and a corner away from a grocery store. Public parking is just on the opposite side of the street. It has a very smooth self checkin and checkout. Most importantly for me is, there is a kitchenette where you can cook whatever food you like to eat and save money on eating out.

Lovely apartment. Cosy for 5 would be better for 2/3 max. Great secure location.

Very bad experience at Getaway Gent. First of all, during check-in, our room smelled like sewage. When we went downstairs to the reception, we were treated very rudely. As if we shouldn't complain. Next, we discovered that there is no air conditioning in the room, even though it is stated on the website (after our complaint, they removed it from the website and now claim it wasn't listed, even though we have a screenshot of it). The hotel refused to cooperate in finding a solution and told us to send an email. It is truly unbearable in the room with temperatures of 25+ degrees. It is far too stuffy, and we were unable to sleep because of it. Subsequently, on check-out day, a member of staff entered without knocking. This was at 10:15 AM, while you are supposed to check out by 11:00 AM. When we reported this to the reception, we were also treated rudely. In the middle of our conversation, the woman picked up the phone and started talking. Unfortunately, emailing was also to no avail; the management is not offering a solution and they do not seem interested. Our tip: Stay Away from Getaway Gent! You will be more comfortable on a bench outside on the street!

Great location, quietly situated in the heart of Ghent, parking across the street, safe, quiet neighborhood.. It's a shame that the staff only spoke English and weren't really proactively helpful in showing us the way to the rooms.

The hotel is in a great location, the room is spacious and has a very useful little kitchen, I recommend it!

Good location for exploring the old town on foot, parking garage right outside, large rooms. But no air conditioning, so it gets very, very hot inside in the summer, and no coffee machine either.

Perfect for a weekend getaway. The building houses many apartments. The booking process and service are very professional. Everything is clean and well-maintained, however, the apartment kitchens are very basic. There's only a simple microwave, no oven, toaster, or coffee maker. When staying with three people, you'd expect more than just one hook in the bathroom... The usual problem with this type of apartment. Parking is limited and costs €20 per day, so it needs to be booked in advance. Parking in the garage across the street costs €34! All in all, though, it was still a great stay.

Rooms are really clean, spacious and with all the amenities you need. The automated check-in and check-out system is easy and quick, which is a big bonus if you don't have the energy or want to talk to a human.

Getaway Studios, Ghent Apartment / Studio accommodation - Went as a family during the heat wave of 27 May 2026 to 29 May 2026 A great stay at a really well-located spot in Ghent. The studios are tucked away close to the centre but far enough to avoid the noise. A perfect balance. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and parking is available directly opposite, which made arrival very easy. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with a sofa bed and a double bed, ideal for families or groups. Kitchen facilities are well stocked and simple to use, including an electric hob and microwave. There is no air conditioning, but fans are provided and the windows open wide, which helped a great deal on warm nights. We had a fantastic experience overall and would highly recommend Getaway Studios to anyone looking for comfortable, practical accommodation in a brilliant location. Excellent value.
