Le Mat Hostel
Visitors praise Le Mat Hostel for its excellent central location near the beach and amenities, its charming atmosphere in a renovated old mansion, and comfortable beds with personal lights and sockets. However, a recurring complaint is poor sound and smoke insulation in the rooms, which can lead to noise and smells.

Central location and close to everything, cheap, suitable for those who want a simple and good place to sleep in the center of things and not pay expensively.
Absolutely amazing hostel! I was totally in love with the interior design, and the location in the old part of the town is just perfect. A special shoutout to the amazing receptionist, Gregory — he has a great sense of humor and was kind enough to let me drop off my bags an hour before the official check-in time. Everything is sparkling clean. The rooms feel very authentic, the bed is comfortable, and there are curtains for privacy. I also highly appreciated having separate female toilets and showers. They provide fresh towels and spacious lockers with keys for your personal belongings. The hostel has a great common area, a well-equipped kitchen, and a water cooler. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a 5-minute walk to the promenade and the beach. It’s also only a 15-minute walk to the bus stop near the Manzano restaurant. From there, you can catch intercity buses to Ayia Napa, Nicosia, and Limassol. Useful tip for travelers: local city buses cost €2 (cash), and intercity buses are €5 (cash to the driver). Highly recommend this place!
Worst Hostel 0 Respect 0 Morals the hotel staff is the rudest you would meet!
I stayed here in September 2021, during all the COVID restrictions, and despite the circumstances, I truly enjoyed my time there. I even got sick with COVID right after arriving, but the atmosphere of this place made the experience much easier and more comfortable. The hostel is located in a quiet and cozy area of Larnaca, with the beach just a short walk away. There’s a kitchen available, which was really convenient, and my favorite part was the lovely courtyard where people gathered in the evenings to relax, talk, and meet travelers from all over the world. The social atmosphere here is amazing without feeling loud or chaotic. The hostel offers both dorm rooms and private rooms, so it works well whether you want to meet new people or prefer more privacy. Overall, it’s a warm, peaceful, and welcoming place with a great international vibe. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Cyprus.
Good hostel very helpful and friendly hosts
The location is just perfect: close to all the important sights and only two minutes from the sea. We had a lovely private room with a private bathroom, air conditioning and a balcony overlooking the lower terrace and the city. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The availability of adapters for Type G sockets was also a big plus. Both the room and the hostel itself looked authentic and had a special charm, which we really liked. The hostel also has a shared kitchen. Highly recommended!
