Oscar is a gay bar and café on Regnbuepladsen, right beside Copenhagen City Hall. It's a convenient spot to start your night, given its proximity to the city's other gay bars around the Latin Quarter and Studiestræde. You can grab coffee and food here during the day, but things pick up at night, especially on Fridays when DJs spin tracks. When the weather cooperates, the terrace on the square is a great spot to hang out. It's non-smoking inside, which is a plus. On weekend nights and during Copenhagen Pride, which takes over the same square, Oscar gets packed.

We ordered a set of six iconic sandwiches and we recommend them. First, try the chicken with mushrooms and capers, as it's the mildest, and then go wild for the soul. Add a large pint of chilled Tuborg and what more could you want? ;) Oh, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I recommend it. It's worth a visit.
