About this place Bois de Montmaur

The Bois de Montmaur is a wooded public park on the northern edge of Montpellier, near the Agropolis campus. It has a reputation as an outdoor cruising area, but we could not find a current, independent guide that documents it, so treat that as old information. It is an ordinary public park used by walkers, runners and families. Sexual activity in public is an offence in France (exhibition sexuelle, art. 222-32 of the penal code), and nothing here is organised or tolerated by the city. If you want to meet men, the legal options are the city's two gay saunas, Koncept and ONE Sauna, or the apps.

The park is beautiful on the outside, but disgusting in the center, through the forest. There's litter and condoms everywhere, broken glass, and human excrement in every corner. If you want to enjoy this park, stick to the main paths, and even then, you'll occasionally find human waste lying around.
