What reviewers say

Visitors praise the Hôtel Victor Hugo Nice for its excellent location, with easy access to trams, the promenade, and nearby amenities, and highlight the friendly welcome from the owner Gilles and his dog Marius. However, some guests found the hotel to be less flexible with strict checkout times and noted that rooms can be warm with simple windows, and some bathrooms are cramped.

If your expecting some flexibility here this place will disappoint. Checkout and breakfast at 11 am sharp. Small entry/reception - tiny breakfast nook. Lovely little dog! Room gets heat from street/ simple windows when hot! A bit difficult to identify - limited signage at street level residential building.

Small but comfortable rooms. Great bed. Quiet, safe neighborhood. Short walk to the promenade.

Superbly located, comfortable and quiet room. Small hotel with 6 rooms in a great location. The owner is friendly and gives good advice.

I gave the rooms one star because we came home with bedbug bites. Perhaps it was due to the cleanliness? Otherwise, the service, such as the welcome and breakfast, was very good, as was the location.

We just spent 8 wonderful nights at the Victor Hugo Hotel and cannot recommend it enough! It is right in the heart of Nice—literally across from the tram and a 5-minute walk to the train station and the Promenade. The host Gilles (and his super cute dog!) made the trip extra special. He helped us plan our daily itineraries and gave the best transit tips. Plus, the daily breakfast was amazing with fresh pastries, bread, cheese, meats, fruit, and eggs. We loved France and will definitely be back!

I lived here for 4 days the hotel is 2 stars, you pay 2 stars you get 2 stars Positive things: the hotel is very well located, the owner is very kind, even though everything is small you have everything negative points: everything is very small, especially the bathroom. I am 95 kg and it was difficult for me to wash myself (if you are over 100 kg it will definitely be impossible) Good quality/price ratio, the hotel is not for demanding people or those over 100 kg
