About this place Grand Hôtel de l'Opéra

The Grand Hôtel de l'Opéra occupies the most coveted position in Toulouse: directly on Place du Capitole, looking out over the brick-arched 18th-century city hall that defines La Ville Rose. The hotel is a belle époque institution dating to 1893, with 57 rooms and suites across five floors, a swimming pool, spa and brasserie on the ground floor. It is consistently recommended in LGBTQ+ travel guides as Toulouse's best gay-friendly hotel — staff are welcoming and professional, and the location places guests within five minutes' walk of every gay venue in the historic centre. The rooftop terrace with Capitole views is one of the best sundown spots in the city.

The hotel is very outdated and, considering the prices it charges, desperately needs renovation. We stayed here for three days and found it quite disconcerting that, among other things, our room still hadn't been cleaned at 3:00 PM, and we had to go to reception to have it cleaned. Laundry carts and garbage bags are left lying around in the hallways all day! The elevator is very basic; two people with two suitcases have to be careful about the order in which they use it. We wouldn't stay here again on a future visit to Toulouse, as it's simply not good value for money.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel L’Opera for 6 nights while we ventured all over Toulouse and the surrounding cities. This is a perfect location for walking, sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying the restaurants and food choices in Toulouse. We hopped on a local train for a day trip to Alb and also took a day trip to Carcassonne. Both of these cities are about an hour by train. The hotel staff, especially Clara and Kristof, went above-and-beyond to make us feel very welcome. They are very focused on the hotel patrons🥰. And it is obvious they love their jobs. The room was absolutely stunning with great views of the Capitole and plaza, a beautiful bed, and a spacious bathroom. We look forward to staying again at Grand Hotel L’Opera when visiting Toulouse😍

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the prestigious Grand Hôtel de l’Opéra in Toulouse for opening its doors to us. Conducting a photoshoot within this iconic establishment was a true honor. A very special thank you to Mr. Izard from the sales department, whose attentiveness and dedication made this project possible. The sumptuous setting and impeccable service lent an exceptional dimension to our work.
