TheLiberate Berlin

TheLiberate is a slick gay bar in Berlin’s Mitte, from the same owners as More and Heile Welt. It’s got a bit of an older crowd, but don’t let that scare you off.

The place takes up 300 square meters, broken into three connected bars. Think American and Hong Kong design cues — lots of gold and black. It’s a good looking room.

They’re serious about the drinks here: cocktails, champagne, and beer. Don’t come looking for food, because there isn’t any. This is strictly a spot for evening drinks and conversation. The patrons skew a bit older, mostly 30s and 40s, though anyone's welcome. Sometimes there are DJs or live music, but it’s more about a good vibe than a full-on club night.

You can find TheLiberate near Hackescher Markt U-Bahn station. It’s a solid choice if you want a polished gay bar experience in central Berlin.
