Quite disappointing quality at an exorbitant price. I came to the restaurant with high expectations, hoping to actually eat authentic Sardinian products. I ordered pasta with bottarga (roe of the grey mullet) and had only discovered this delicious delicacy on my last vacation. What I received was a meager seafood pasta with a mussel and a tiny cube of fish, but no bottarga! None of it was on the menu. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he claimed that bottarga powder had been sprinkled on top. Since bottarga has a distinct orange color, none of that was true. I simply don't understand why they would deceive their customers and put such dishes on the menu without serving them. We also received a complimentary amuse-bouche, which was a tomato soup that tasted like pureed canned tomatoes. No seasoning, nothing special. Any home cook could make something better. I won't be back. I find the pricing absurdly high for what you get.

We went to this restaurant with friends and opted for the set menu. Three out of five dishes were simply bad, one was good, and the cheese at the end was the only one. It started with an ice-cold, tightly packed beef tartare. It wasn't freshly dressed and therefore not particularly tasty. Then came my highlight: The price difference between the four- and five-course menus (€26) seemed steep on paper, but I had high expectations. However, when the second appetizer turned out to be artichoke with an onsen egg, I was brought back down to earth. I can't definitively say whether the onsen egg was cooked correctly. I suspect it wasn't cooked properly, so the eggs were still quite raw. Taste-wise, this course was awful. Nobody at our table liked it. Now we come to the best course: the Sardinian pasta with mushrooms. The first dish that tasted good that evening. The tuna steak (which, at least for me, was cooked to perfection) for the main course arrived on a paprika sauce that was actually a lobster sauce from a wholesaler. It was accompanied by overly peppered, but firm, mashed potatoes, a dollop of lentils, and some overcooked vegetables. The duck came with exactly the same side dishes. The "culinary fireworks" were rounded off with a cheese platter, for which they didn't even ask if we wanted a piece of bread. The kitchen completely failed to engage us. Unfortunately, neither did the service. We were greeted by a friendly young man who provided us with a bottle of sparkling wine as an aperitif and some water. He was trying hard to take care of the guests—but couldn't possibly handle the full dining room alone. His colleague/boss (?) took 20 minutes to open our wine, but made it very clear that we, as a group, were not welcome. The service improved steadily throughout the evening, but we were far from receiving good, friendly service. The wine was good, and the wine list offers wines in all price ranges. That's great. The place is also incredibly loud when it's full. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend Zippiri to anyone. The evening was a huge culinary disappointment.

For me, dining at Zippiri is a feast for the taste buds. It's a creative, vibrant cuisine. You can taste how meticulously the dishes are balanced and the quality of the ingredients is outstanding. Even a small amuse-bouche, like a tomato bread salad, has an aroma that evokes dreams of the South. Add to that a wonderful selection of wines and friendly, warm, and knowledgeable service. And as the icing on the cake, in the evenings, a fantastic pianist provides a beautiful musical accompaniment to the meal. So, when I want to treat myself, this is where I go.

Fantastic food, great ambience, amazing service!

The preparation and quality of the meal were very good. The only minor drawback was that the side dishes weren't quite hot enough. But otherwise, including the wine recommendation, it was very good.

Zippiri on Aachener Straße, opposite Melaten Cemetery, offers a delightfully vibrant and interesting Sardinian-based cuisine! The rooms are bright, though unfortunately a bit noisy (there's little soundproofing when it's full), but the staff is friendly and attentive despite the hustle and bustle. After a lovely amuse-bouche, we enjoyed an exceptional steak tartare, followed by fregola sarda with delicious seafood, then perfectly cooked tuna... and finally a cheese platter that we could barely finish. The four-course menu was already more than enough for us! The wine pairings were interesting and well-matched. Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back!

I first visited the restaurant in 2025 and was truly impressed. Unfortunately, our second visit in February 2026 fell far short of expectations. The portion sizes were very small, even for a fine-dining establishment. Aside from the pasta and tuna, the food was underwhelming. At times, it seemed somewhat uninspired and lacking in flavor. The oysters hadn't been properly opened or cleaned. Overall, the price-performance ratio was poor. The wine hadn't been stored correctly; the bottle was dusty and full of sediment. The service was friendly, but at times inattentive. Things were forgotten. Where has the magic of our first visit gone?

We had reserved a table for four. With a reservation, I would have expected a decent table. Unfortunately, we were seated right by the door. As an aperitif, I asked for a Negroni. The waiter didn't know what it was. When the menus arrived, he was standing right on the first page. The food was okay, but unfortunately, it was far too expensive.
