About this place Marsil

Marsil is a gay-friendly hotel in Cologne, family-run since 1999, in a historic building on Marsilstein. The hotel puts you right where you want to be: close to the city center and all its busiest parts. It’s specifically a gay hotel, so LGBTQ+ travelers looking for a comfortable, affirming place get exactly that. Cologne's gay scene has a relaxed, welcoming feel, with bars, clubs, and cultural spots spread across town. Staying in a building that’s been around for a while gives your trip a sense of place, of history. If you’re in town for fun, for the museums, or to check out the local LGBTQ+ community, Marsil makes a good home base. Check their website for room types and what’s currently on offer. The staff can also help with questions about your stay and what's nearby.

One of the nicest hotels in Cologne. Very nice rooms, in a historic building. Bathroom: beautiful and clean Quiet, no disturbances from neighbors, hardly any traffic noise (outside of Carnival season) Very nice breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Area: one of the nicest in Cologne (Belgian Quarter) Value for money: good Tip: There was a small step in front of the shower: You can stub your toes, so it's best to always wear flip-flops.

We had a wonderful stay at Maison Marsil in Cologne. The hotel is beautifully designed, warm, elegant, and incredibly peaceful. Every detail feels thoughtful and creates such a cozy atmosphere. It truly feels more like staying in a beautiful home than in a traditional hotel. The location is also perfect for discovering Cologne while still having a calm and relaxing place to come back to. A special thank you as well to Frank for his kindness and thoughtful recommendations before our stay. We especially loved exploring the city as a family. We’ll definitely keep very beautiful memories from our stay at Maison Marsil.

Nice, helpful staff here :) rooms however are pretty basic, soundproofing is non-existent as you can hear every footstep from wherever, and breakfast options were limited.

A very lovely, warm, and dedicated team and a very personal atmosphere in a charming old building with an elevator. However, the old building's age meant that my suite lacked a bathroom. The shower is located next to the entrance, right in the middle of the living room, and there's only a sink without a shelf in the toilet. This isn't a problem for a single person or a couple, but it feels rather intimate when the sofa bed in the living room is also occupied. The location is quiet and very central. Some rooms have balconies, which is pure luxury in good weather (though there's no shade). The suite is spacious, with a comfortable reading chair and even two entrances. If, like me, you were expecting the advertised "well-equipped" kitchenette: it might exist in some other rooms, if at all. My suite had a large refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a small sink, some dishes and cutlery, a few water glasses, and a tea and coffee station. There wasn't a single stovetop burner, and consequently, no pots, pans, or anything like that. Cooking wasn't possible, so be aware of that.

Such a cozy place to stay! The staff is amazing and breakfast is very worth the 16 euros.

I stayed 1 night at Maison Marsil and I was very happy with it. Nice and cosy room with a sunny balcony on the quiet side, very nice staff and a good position. I'd definitely go back and I definitely recommend it.
