About this place Hopper Hotel et cetera

Hopper Hotel et cetera, on Brüsseler Straße, is a contemporary, 48-room hotel in Cologne’s Belgisches Viertel, a good base for LGBTQ+ travelers wanting to explore one of Germany's most gay-friendly cities.

The rooms are modern, with en suite bathrooms. The hotel has a gym, solarium, and sauna. Its restaurant does international food and wine, and there’s a courtyard terrace for eating and drinking. That means you don’t have to go far for a meal, but the city’s larger gay scene and general restaurant options are easy to get to from here.

Cologne’s gay neighborhood and LGBTQ+ venues are spread across the city, making it an easy destination for queer travelers. The Belgisches Viertel itself is a creative, bohemian area with independent shops, cafés, and galleries, so there’s plenty to do beyond the hotel.

I stayed here a total of six times, for two nights each time, during my professional development training. The hotel is well-located, yet quiet enough to sleep in at night. The building is modern and well-maintained. The dining room in the old chapel is quite charming for breakfast. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Whether it's low-fructose fruit for breakfast or an extra half hour in the sauna because I went down so late, they very kindly accommodate all requests. This time, I arrived with a cruciate ligament injury. Yesterday, the staff was so kind upon my arrival and put my ice packs in the hotel freezer. Today, I forgot them at my training course. Nikolasz from reception, after a very friendly and pleasant chat, prepared a bag of ice for my leg. Thank you so much for this wonderful service during my stays. 🙏🏼

Very tiny room. Basic design. Reception employees are very polite. Nice building with interesting story. Well located.
