Klassik Altstadt Hotel Lübeck

The reception is only open until 7 p.m. If you arrive late and haven't been able to call them first, for example if the ferry arrives late, you're out of luck. They no longer answer the phone and do not respond to WhatsApp messages. I had to find another hotel in the middle of the night. When I finally checked in the next day, they referred me to booking.com, even though I hadn't booked the room there at all. Even after I mentioned this multiple times, they kept pointing the finger at the travel agency and showed absolutely no understanding. The check-in form listed an Italian address and phone number, even though I am from the Netherlands, so the personal details were completely incorrect. When I pointed this out, they only said that they had received those details. You have a hotel 24 hours a day. In the event of a possible late check-in and the person is still calling, you DO answer the phone, because you don't know what has happened. And in an emergency, an email address alone is not sufficient. Very customer-unfriendly and a lack of service. The room was also very cold with -6 outside, and there was a lot of dust on the curtains. The closet door was impossible to open. The breakfast and the room were okay, but I have never received such customer-unfriendly treatment.

In short, this hotel is fantastic! The location is perfect for the Christmas markets and the nearest parking garage. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, cozy, and clean! The service is wonderful and friendly.

The night before our wedding at the Klassik Altstadt Hotel was simply perfect. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcome and well taken care of; everything was straightforward, friendly, and professional. ☺️ The room was cozy, quiet, and equipped with everything we needed to start our big day relaxed. 🤩 Many thanks to the entire team; you made the start of our wedding absolutely wonderful. 🧡🩷
