Der Zauberlehrling

The restaurant was one of the most unique dining experiences I have ever had. Just marvelous.

A place to feel at home, everyone is exceptionally nice and friendly, and the food is delicious. We always love coming back.

The "Magic Dinner" at Zauberlehrling unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. Contrary to what was advertised, the promised candlelight atmosphere was missing, which immediately diminished the evening's special ambiance. The magic show also failed to impress – the performance was rather average and lacked the hoped-for wow factor. The food was decent, but overall rather standard and not what one would expect from a more upscale establishment. Culinary-wise, the evening fell far short of expectations. On a positive note, trainee Helene truly stood out with her friendly and dedicated manner. The rest of the service was adequate, but also rather average. Overall, it was a mixed bag of an evening – with clearly more potential that was sadly wasted.

The restaurant impresses with its refined, well-composed dishes that live up to its Michelin star. This time we visited during the apprentice weeks, where all dishes are created and prepared by the trainees. The price is reduced, but the quality is impressive. Very talented and motivated young chefs and service staff who will soon enrich the next generation of top restaurateurs.
