Hotel De France
Visitors praise the Hotel De France for its great central location, friendly staff, and stylish atmosphere, with some finding their rooms clean and comfortable. However, a significant complaint is the lack of parking, with the nearest garage being a considerable distance away, and some guests experience issues with outdated or ineffective air conditioning.

Those arriving by car are in for a problem! The hotel has no parking. The nearest parking garage is 500 meters away. Free parking spaces are very rare on the street and side streets. The room furnishings probably date back to the 1970s.
Really enjoyed our stay here. It was very convenient to the old town and had a lovely little wine bar downstairs.
Extremely unhelpful regarding an accidental double booking. The employee refused to give his name. The hotel advertises air conditioning. In reality, there's an ancient, rickety, portable air conditioner that you could buy for a few euros at a hardware store. It barely cools, but is so loud you can't hear the TV, making sleep impossible. There was mold or dirt on the bathroom vent. Never again.
After reading many negative reviews, I can understand the issues in some rooms. Ultimately, you just have to be lucky to get a good room. It's perfectly adequate for one or two nights. Mine was fine this time, and the staff was very friendly.
I had an unpleasant experience. I called on 27.05.2026 at 10 pm to check if I could check in later and the receptionist called me to another hotel to pay but taking advantage of the fact that it was 10:30 pm he asked me for a much higher price, explaining that I couldn't check in any other way anyway. On the advice of the receptionist I didn't make the reservation on Booking, I was going to pay in cash. So I checked in at another hotel nearby...
Very nice and quiet place. No air conditioning, which makes it a bit uncomfortable when it's hot outside. But it cools down at night and you can open the windows. Breakfast buffet is adjective, although a little on the pricey side. Unlike Google implies, this hotel has no parking. Cars can only be parked on the street which is very limited and charged by the hour. However, the place is very central and the city is very walkable. You can also take the bus. A station is right in front the hotel.
