Notos Heights Hotel and Suites

Excellent value for money. I don't understand the many negative comments. For just under €50 for two people, there's really nothing to complain about. Clean rooms, a small breakfast, and a beautiful view over the city to the sea. I'd gladly stay again!

We have had a really fantastic stay at Notos Heights. Nice clean rooms (cleaned every day, clean towels every day). The location is great, just outside Malia Old town (10 mins walk). Nice breakfast, lunch and dinner possibilities, good pool and beds. The staff is awesome, so incredible kind and willing to help to make your stay as good as possible. We will be back for sure.

We will never book this hotel again. The hotelier claimed there was a problem with the booking system on the day of our arrival and rebooked us to another hotel without asking. This hotel wasn't the same standard and had one fewer star. We've learned that both hotels frequently pull this stunt. Absolutely unprofessional. We've been arguing for days about financial compensation.

Conflicted. That word sums it up best for me when I think about this hotel. As some have already noted, you shouldn't be fooled by the room names. Anyone expecting a luxury suite will be disappointed. Anyone hoping for a good sea view will be disappointed. As were we. Our room was on the ground floor and could only be accessed through a patio door. This meant the sea view was very limited. The rooms on the first and second floors with balconies, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy a great view. So you could be lucky or unlucky. The room itself is very sparsely furnished. A few hangers, a shelf, a table, but with a refrigerator, which is great for cold drinks. The rooms could also use a renovation. The room service wasn't that great either. Often, something was left behind, or the bed was simply made and nothing more. Hence, only 2 stars for the rooms. Let's talk about the staff: The lady at the reception is absolutely lovely, as is the gentleman at dinner, who always served us very nicely. We can only give it a thumbs-up; we felt very welcome. So, what was positive? The location is very quiet, yet you still have a fantastic view of the sea and the city. The pool area is very nice, and eating outside on the terrace was a dream. We felt very comfortable here. The bottom line: It doesn't live up to the promises, but you can still feel comfortable and enjoy a wonderful vacation. Would I recommend the hotel? Yes, but only with these tips. Would I choose the hotel again? Yes, but only if the price is right.
