Omythos Studios and Villas Crete

Our vacation at Omythos was indescribably beautiful! For vacationers who love and appreciate nature and tranquility, this is the perfect place! The view of the surrounding mountains and the sea is breathtaking. Even after a week, we couldn't get enough of it! During the day, the air is filled with the buzzing of bees and birdsong; in the evenings, and especially at night, you can hear owls hooting, and the starry sky is spectacular! Our house was very stylishly and comfortably furnished. Everything is very clean and well-maintained! Susanne, the owner, spoiled us with a delicious breakfast (homemade jam and fresh, homemade rolls every morning). She speaks perfect German, which made communication very easy, and her local knowledge and tips were also very helpful! The accommodation can be reached within 5 minutes by car from the town of Mirtos, which is located in the valley directly by the sea. This means you have all the shopping and dining options you need, if you want. Mirtos itself is a quiet, yet well-developed tourist destination with quaint little cafes and tavernas. You definitely need a rental car for the accommodation, and it should be a bit more robust (like an SUV) due to the gravel road and hillside location. We had an absolute dream vacation here and would definitely come back! The most beautiful accommodation we've ever had!!!

The journey there is a bit challenging, it's worth mentioning, but the reward is a little paradise, surrounded by peace and quiet, right in the heart of nature. We were simply thrilled with the amenities of our holiday apartment, far removed from any of the big hotel complexes. We hadn't expected this level of comfort – tasteful, elegant, and spacious. Add to that the unparalleled location of the small property. The sea shimmers in the distance, and the view sweeps across the green, largely untouched valley. Simply breathtaking. For individualists seeking peace and freedom and wanting to avoid mass tourism, this is certainly an excellent alternative. The hostess was always very friendly, and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Thank you for the relaxing days.

We recently spent our second holiday at OMythos. The perfect hideaway in a beautiful setting, absolutely peaceful with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and the sea. And yet only 10 minutes from the beach and the authentic Mirtos. We'll definitely be back next year... for swimming, snorkeling, and hiking!! Dear Susanne, thank you so much for your hospitality – we felt completely at ease every single one of our ten days!

Absolutely stunning! One of the most Beautiful places we've ever stayed at and that says something. We found this place by coincedence when we were looking for a place to escape the rain during our motorbike trip. This is a hidden gem, the view is amazing as are the apartments. Also the owners are really nice and helpfull. Can't recommend this place enough 🙏

Dreamlike, ultra-modern, newly opened villas in an absolutely tranquil location a few kilometers outside Myrthos, nestled in the mountains. You can be self-catering – everything you need for breakfast is provided in the fully equipped kitchen – or dine in one of the numerous tavernas in Myrthos. The owner gave us a super friendly welcome and provided us with plenty of information. The road to the villas is signposted from the village, so it's easy to find. However, your vehicle should either be suitable for off-road driving or you shouldn't be afraid of the gravel road. Here too, the journey is definitely part of the experience. We'd love to come back next time. Oh yes, perhaps not really important, but they also speak German.
