Budapest Pride 2026

Budapest Pride is Hungary's annual LGBTQ+ celebration. It's also one of Europe's most politically charged Pride events, happening in a country where LGBTQ+ rights have gone downhill fast under the Orbán government.

The march itself, through central Budapest—past the Parliament building, across Chain Bridge—is an act of visible resistance as much as a celebration.

Solidarity from outside Hungary is a big part of it. LGBTQ+ people and allies come from all over Europe to march with Hungarian activists. They're fighting government-sponsored discrimination. Police are out in force. The march through the capital's Baroque and Art Nouveau boulevards feels charged, like history's unfolding right there.
