What reviewers say

Some guests found their rooms to be comfortable, especially after requesting a change to one with a private bathroom. However, multiple visitors reported significant issues with overbooking and cancellations, with reservations made well in advance being cancelled at the last minute. Other common complaints include basic or unclean rooms, difficult staircases, and unhelpful staff.

For the first night, we were put in what I would call a "good" room with a shared toilet and shower on the landing, and separate beds, which wasn't what we had booked. Luckily, we asked to change rooms, which was easily accepted; the second room was more comfortable with a private bathroom. The common areas were very impractical: a poorly laid-out, cluttered kitchen with no utensils whatsoever (just three cups and two teaspoons), and a small dining room where we didn't prepare any meals. Parking was very difficult. The quality wasn't worth the price. However, I should mention that we were very well received and looked after by the staff.

When we booked with Travago, The venue was advertised as a Guest house!! When we arrived the venue was Hostel accommodation!! Our room was basic, at the top of 3 flights of an extremely steep narrow staircase!! There was no lift!! There was No Tea and Coffee facility in our Room!! And No Drinks were allowed in the Bedrooms!! On the Advertisement on their website it shows Tea and coffee making facilities in the Rooms!! The freestanding wardrobe was missing it's front legs, and was tilting forward at a precarious angle!! This made opening the wardrobe Doors extremely Difficult!! The Room was Dirty with lots of Dust on the Door Surrounds, and on top of the wardrobe!! The venue was extremely Noisy, with people Coming and Going all night, Banging Doors!! Their website is very misleading, and in my opinion is false advertising!! The venue is also overpriced for The standard of Accommodation, we Paid over 350 euros for 2 nights!! We could have got a much better Hotel for a much lesser amount!! I am a regular Traveller who travels all over world!! And the Shamrock inn is one of the most overpriced, places I have ever stayed in!! I would not recommend this venue to any future tourists, unless you are a Backpacker, and want Basic abiet extremely expensive accommodation!!!

Terrible experience with the Shamrock Inn in Cork. Before booking, I contacted them via WhatsApp and they gave me a price for certain dates. Based on that, I organized my entire trip. Then, they simply told me to book through the website. When I went to the website, there was no availability for the agreed dates. In other words, they gave me incorrect information and left me stranded. Even worse was the service after that: they stopped responding completely and showed no interest in resolving the problem or making the booking directly. Total lack of professionalism, disorganization, and disrespect for the customer. I do not recommend them.

Worst experience of my life . I rang last minute for a room as I had surgery the next morning and the protest were on I informed them I had a big operation so automatically you think things would be clean . No I will attach pictures of the room below what I walked into . Not to mention when I walked into the building the smell was horrific and greated by two junkies. alcohol all over the room , I was then offered another room I’d rather sleep on the streets this was 12am so why wasn’t the room done hours prior disgusting 🤢 nothing like what they show on line

When we were checking in we were led into a room with a table and computer. The girl checking us in had 5 men sitting around her in other chairs who were all staring and laughing at me and my friends. Very strange. The rooms were then filthy and I mean filthy, with hairs in the bed, a bad smelling and dirty bathroom and on the wall by where one of us were meant to rest our head was snots rubbed into the wall. Snots. Turns my stomach looking back. There is no saving grace for this place.
