Visited in April and got a severe allergic reaction, as the room 210 was not properly cleaned and had loads of dust in the upper areas, which was ventilated around the room. That's because of the unusual shape of the rooms as ancient palazzo was redone into a hotel. Service told me they cleaned that upper area only once per month (!), while this area probably constitutes 20% of all room space. 3 days of misery, until I had an idea, climbed up and bingo - a dust colony. Was moved to another room - allergy stopped immediately. The manager denied the issue, hid from us and offered me a free drink by email). A lady at the reception, said it was "strange I had an allergy so fast". Preparing a complaint to local authorities to make sure they clean the rooms up to 4 star standards.
Stunning hotel. Beautiful building, lovely staff. Cool lift! Breakfast on a sunny terrace was great- good choices including vegan options for me. Our room was fantastic- minimal scandi styling which complemented the original Architecture and overlooked the square. Location is central though I can understand why lone travellers may feel unsafe with the narrow alleyways and people loitering in them. The Fabbro restaurant on the square was also a brilliant place to eat. Would recommend this hotel highly
The hotel is located in a beautiful palace on a lively little square, yet far from the tourist crowds. The breakfast is excellent, with a wide selection of sweet and savory options and high-quality products. The family room is spacious, and we experienced no noise as our room didn't face the square. However, the room's decor lacks warmth for a hotel of this caliber, and storage space, particularly in the bathroom, is insufficient.
Fantastic experience while on travel for work. The room was comfortable and met my expectations. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great and the stay comfortable. I loved the building and the library where I would work. WiFi was perfect. The history of the building and the neighborhood was amazing. I will be back!
Spectacular renovation of a charming building
In the very heart of Genoa's Superb City, overlooking a charming little square, housed in a former noble palace that still retains a grand marble staircase and grotesque frescoed ceilings, this hotel is a true gem. In addition to spacious, clean rooms, it offers a terrace for breakfast (open all day) on the fifth floor, and a large library lounge for relaxation. The hotel also features an art space that periodically hosts exhibitions and cultural events under the name Primo Piano (First Floor). The young, smiling, and very friendly staff are also available. There's also a small bistro for excellent snacks.
