Montenegro Pride 2026

Montenegro Pride, in Podgorica, happens every July. It's the Western Balkans' main annual march, and it's always been a political one.

Back in 2013, it started with street violence and nationalist counter-protests. Now, it's a police-protected event, drawing people from Montenegro and nearby countries.

The 2026 edition sticks to the usual format: a march through the city center by day, then an evening of concerts, panels, and community gatherings. With Montenegro trying to get into the EU, each Pride march feels like a test of civil society.

Around 1,000 people usually show up, a number that reflects Montenegro's LGBTQ+ community and its international supporters.
