About This Event

Rotterdam Pride is the Netherlands' second Pride — younger, edgier and more overtly political than Amsterdam's canal party, and set in a modern port city that wears its diversity plainly. In 2026 it runs 17–27 September, more than a hundred events across the city, and it happens on foot, not on the water: despite Rotterdam being a port, there is no boat parade here.

The centrepiece is the Pride Walk on Saturday 26 September, a march of a few kilometres from around the central station through the city to Willemsplein on the Maas, where the free Pride Festival takes over the waterfront from early afternoon into the night, with a main stage, a Queer Campus of talks and podcasts, and a queer market. The festival is free to walk into.

Pride here nearly didn't survive — the previous organisation folded when it could no longer meet its bills, and the event returned in 2025 after a year away; 2026 is the continuation of that comeback.

Practical notes: Rotterdam is a 25-minute train from The Hague and about 40 minutes from Amsterdam, so it's an easy day trip, and the whole thing is walkable from Rotterdam Centraal. September is mild but bring a layer for the evening by the river. Check rotterdam-pride.nl for the full week's programme.

Practical Tips

Land the parade start at Stationsplein — step straight off the train at Rotterdam Centraal into the crowd.

After the march ends at Willemsplein, wander the Erasmus Bridge stage and loop back to Schouwburgplein for the food-truck Pride Village.

Long-haul flights land cheaper into Schiphol; the direct Intercity gets you to Rotterdam Centraal in about 25 minutes.
