we had a really pleasant stay. our room was really spacious, clean and nice - the bed was really big and very comfortable. we even had a little balcony which was a great addition. the young man on reception was incredibly helpful and friendly, we were able to leave our bags as we arrived before check-in. all staff working during our stay were very pleasant! the location of the hostel was also fab, we were within walking distance of surrounding shops, cafes, restaurants etc. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if in Tilburg.

We were in Tilburg for a concert and booked a tiny house at Roots Hostel, reserved a parking space, and added breakfast. The parking lot is right next to the hostel, and the tiny house is about a 10-minute walk away. Both the hostel and the tiny house are within easy walking distance of the city center and the train station. The staff were all very friendly, and both the hostel and the tiny house were very clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the whole place had a great vibe. We'd love to come back.

Perfectly located close to the NS station, and if you are attending a concert at 013 (Karnivool in my case), a great place to spend the night.

I have been to this hostel twice. The first time was actually by chance, on April 27th. Together with a friend, we decided to play a game of billiards while the receptionist, Samuel, told us something about the history of the building. It turned out to be a former bank with a vault, which was later converted into a bar — that alone was incredible. Having a beer and playing billiards at a time when all the nearby pubs were packed made for a great atmosphere. Spending King's Day in a place like that was truly a special experience. We had just come out of the vault when Samuel started playing Tchaikovsky and Chopin, and that completely blew us away. The second time, I stayed at Roots and went partying at Little Devil, together with bands from all over the world. Afterward, I came back to the hostel and believe me… both times I just felt right at home here. Thanks! Dziękuje!

I had a pleasant stay at this establishment; the staff were as welcoming as the place itself. There's plenty to do in terms of activities. Good location too, with parking available. Clean and comfortable place 😁

Was in Roots during the Roadburn festival 2026.. loved the place and guys there.. it's pretty close walking to all major things in Tilburg during the festival stay - railway station is two minutes from hostel and Roadburn clubs and venues are several minutes walking too.. the place is clean and well maintained, pretty cosy in general.. when I was arriving, Pixies where in speakers with Where is my mind? What a great welcoming! 😃🤟😁

As an experienced traveler, I rarely write reviews, but when you experience the most authentic, friendly Hostel you want everyone to know about it. Less than 24 hours, I arrived in Tilburg and popped my head into Roots and was immediately met by the owner Marion (who shares her name with my dearly departed Mum) and Sofie who were so welcoming. As I was travelling for Charity, they immediately shouted me a room and simply by observing people's interaction - it is easy to see just how happy the people who work here are, and how they go the extra mile to make peoples stay, an amazing experience. The staff are awesome from Louis to Bradey and Sam who even sorted out my washing. The guests love this place and I will for sure be back in the future- thank you Marion 🙏

If there were a perfect model for what a hostel should be, this would be it!!! 🌟 I stayed here for almost two weeks, and I can honestly say it felt like a home away from home 🏡. The staff are incredibly friendly, kind, and always willing to help with anything you might need. A special thank you to Luke, who helped me learn how to ride a bike 🚲 — something I’ll never forget! Sam at the reception, Sophie, and all the team members are always smiling 😊, welcoming, and ready to assist you with anything. I truly wish that all their dreams come true ✨✨✨✨✨ The atmosphere here is exactly what a hostel should feel like — warm, lively, and full of character 🎶. From the cozy spaces to the piano at the entrance 🎹, every detail adds something special. I could honestly write for hours about this place! On top of that you can rent a bike

Really clean, affordable and big. There is a shower, toilets. There is a bar underneath the hostel so you don't really have to search for a place to sit down and have a drink. They offer renting bikes and cars.

I can't sing enough praises about this place. Easily one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The location was incredibly convenient, it's right next to the train station. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms were spacious and not overbooked or full to capacity, i had so much room! High ceilings and beautiful windows. They also had very strong curtains, so the room actually stayed dark in the mornings which was fantastic. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. I especially appreciated how large the shower stalls were. I actually had room to change and there were plenty of hooks for my towel, clothes, and toiletries. The water had great temperature control and amazing pressure. The best thing for me was that they have signs everywhere reminding guests that from midnight to 9 am, there is silence in the halls. I wasn't disturbed by loud music or people talking at all! They also provided breakfast for me since I booked through hostelworld! I'm not sure if that's always the case but it definitely made my stay a little simpler. I stayed here to go to Efteling amusement park, and it is incredibly convenient to get to. I highly recommend this hostel!!
