Bunk Hotel Utrecht

Beautiful

This was my second visit to this splendid venue. Good beer and great bitterballen. A short stroll from Utrecht Centraal. It's a perfect date spot.

The hotel is very well located, right next to the train station, the historic center, and two bicycle parking areas. Housed in a former church (the organ is still visible), it offers dormitories and small rooms. Ours had excellent bedding and a decent bathroom, but no storage space, so it's only suitable for a short stay. Breakfast is good, but not self-service. It's a somewhat superficially cool concept, but the staff is very welcoming.

Slept 1 night in one of the pods, i checked in at 1am and it went really smooth. Toilets and showers were very clean and orderly, showers were private and with hot water and good soap Pods where nice and comfortable. Would recomend to staying here!

Phew, quite a lot. A very good location, a very beautiful hotel, but that is where the positives end. I found the booking very expensive for a tiny "premium" room. For that money, you are also greeted in English and immediately directed to an online check-in, which tries to charge you for breakfast again. It was rectified, but that person couldn't seem to realize that 4 x 16 equals 64 and that our breakfast had been paid for. The room is nice, but too small. No bedside table, a toilet behind a glass wall, insufficient power outlets, but good ventilation and decent air conditioning. The breakfast is of very good quality, but because you choose from a small menu, it gets boring quickly. So, not suitable for multiple nights. Nobody could handle the ordering software either, because the drinks were missing every time; they apparently disappeared when adding the food to the order. And being addressed in English time and again, even though you know who speaks Dutch... Not always friendly either. In short, not a good experience for this price.

Room are really small. But it is as described. No false claim here. 2 persons can't stand in the room at the same time.if you have large suitcase, be prepared to leave them outside by your room door Location is great. The hotel design/decor is unique.
