The Nox Hotel Utrecht

Great concept. I was really drawn to the uniquely designed rooms, which is why I chose The Nox. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed, as the price-performance ratio isn't right. There's a lot of room for improvement in housekeeping and maintenance. The grout in the shower was covered in black mold, so I could only shower wearing flip-flops. The tea wasn't refilled. The used cup wasn't cleaned or put away. The trash can wasn't emptied. The silicone sealant around the toilet is completely broken. The bathroom fixtures have brown stains. Everything looks a bit run-down. This is completely unacceptable for a 4-star hotel and the price of the room. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great. All in all, however, I was rather disappointed due to the issues mentioned above.

Perfect location, very friendly service, delicious breakfast (also vegan), and the rooms are clean and in order.

Amazing hotel. Perfectly central location. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. The room cleaning could be a bit better. The prices are simply high, reflecting the location and standard. But it's worth it if you're not out and about 20 hours a day. Highly recommended!! One more thing about the parking spaces. Someone mentioned they were small… we can't confirm that. The entrance/exit is a bit tricky. But there's plenty of room, even for a large Range Rover.

Everything was great, location! It was clean and the rooms looked well-maintained. The staff was very friendly. The only downside is that the room has no air conditioning and it was hot!

On March 2nd and 3rd, I made a booking via booking.com. Upon arrival at the hotel, the lady at the hotel insisted that I pay the same amount because she claimed I hadn't paid, even though I clearly indicated to her over the phone and via my bank statement that the money had indeed been debited from my account. She then stated that I would receive it back a few days after my stay. To date, I have not received it. After several weeks, I contacted someone at the hotel, who initially confirmed that it was indeed true that I had paid twice and that the money would be in my account within a few days. After waiting two weeks, this was still not the case. I then contacted them again, and they indicated that I should request a refund from Booking.com. I did this anyway, and they stated that I needed to provide proof of payment. I did so, yet it still appears to be incorrect. Why do I, as a customer, have to chase after my money when this party (The Nox Hotel) is the one making the mistake? The problem is still not resolved and the service for this is very poor.

Location is perfect, room were beautiful, clean but no iron in my room. The only down side was - there was no availability for dinner at the hotel, it would help getting email informing that it is Always booked out and to book dinner in advance.

The location is perfect in a quieter corner of city center. The Nox reception team was wonderful. We had 2 nights stay in Exclusive Triple room. The room is quite spacious and well decorated. However with over €300 per night, I expected a better condition. There was no coffee machine in our room as described in facility. The faucet of the bathtub was also broken but luckily the shower head worked so we could use a soaking bathtub. The room was not clean. It was dusty on most of surfaces. The bathroom, sink and toilet had very obvious brown stain which made it quite unhygienic. The bed was wonderful though.

A second stay at this hotel and it was as good as the first time! Consistency is always a good thing, especially when the standards are high. The Receotion colleagues are really nice to chat with and were very helpful. I will be staying here again.
