It is a very ordinary hostel, basic amenities are all I personally need. Tidy and nice, friendly people. A small, cozy courtyard with a wild garden is super nice. A must is that it is a five-minute walk from the center of Utrecht.

If you are a young solo female traveler like myself, please don’t stay here unless you enjoy rooms/bathrooms that smell like BO, a crowd almost entirely comprised of men 45+ (many who walked around in just their underwear), and very old furniture/kitchen in desperate need of a renovation for a high cost of €60 per night. In a 14 person dorm I was one of 2 females. The odor was so strong I had to leave and the men stared and made me extremely uncomfortable. The front said they knew there was an odor issue in the room. In 2 months of traveling hostels this is the first one I’ve had to leave early. Wish I could have received a refund for the night i didn’t stay but the very kind red headed receptionist did her best to help me.

I was bothered a lot by nighttime noise from young people going out, while the dormitory window was open because of the heat. Therefore, I found the location of the hostel to be absolutely not well situated.
