Oslo Pride (Skeive Dager)
About This Event
Oslo Pride is Norway's largest Pride: about ten days of debates, parties and culture in late June, ending with a Saturday parade through central Oslo. Its official motto is "Vær den du er. Elsk den du vil." (Be who you are. Love who you want.)
It also carries the memory of 25 June 2022. In the early hours before that year's parade, a gunman opened fire at the London Pub, a long-running gay bar, and nearby, killing two men and wounding more than 20. Police advised cancelling the parade, and thousands marched anyway on their own. The attacker was convicted of terrorism in 2024. Since then security has been visibly heavier; Oslo Police handle security for the event, and the parade has continued every year.
How it works: the parade is free and open to anyone. Organisations and companies must register in advance, but individuals just turn up. In 2026 it left Grønland at noon and ended at Pride Park on Kontraskjæret, beside Akershus Fortress, where the free park runs for the last days of the festival with concerts, bars, food and stalls. Pride House hosts the talks and debates, and Mini Pride covers families. Oslo in late June has close to 19 hours of daylight and Oslo prices, so book hotels early and budget for expensive drinks.
Attendance: VisitOslo has cited more than 40,000 parade participants and about 200,000 spectators without saying which year, and Oslo Pride has not published a 2026 count, so we leave the number blank rather than guess.
The 2026 festival ran 17 to 27 June, with the parade on Saturday 27 June. Oslo Pride has officially announced 16 to 26 June 2027: Mini Pride and Pride House open 20 June, Pride Park opens 23 June, and the parade is on Saturday 26 June 2027.
