Café Szafe is a cafe-bar on Felicjanek street, just west of Kraków's Planty and the Old Town, near the Piasek district. It is an arty, alternative place with a mixed crowd of students, creatives and locals, listed here as gay-friendly rather than as a gay venue. The name means 'wardrobes'. Expect cheap drinks, board games and occasional cultural events rather than a queer programme. It opens from noon daily, closing at midnight early in the week and running until 3am on Friday and Saturday. With over 1,500 reviews averaging 4.4 it is popular in its own right. For dedicated gay bars you will need to head elsewhere in the city afterwards.
