Amazing food. Made me emotional. Its a very small local though, make sure to go really early or to reserve!

We waited about 1.5 hours for a table, but it was absolutely worth it! We ordered the Cataplana à Casinha (with pork, prawns and clams) and the Camarão à Casinha (Home Style Prawns), and it was easily the best meal we had in Portugal. The sauces were incredibly rich and full of flavour, the pork was unbelievably tender, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The portions were huge — far too much for two people — so the staff kindly packed the leftovers for us, and we had enough for another full meal the next day. With wine and water, we paid just under €85 in total, which felt like excellent value considering the quality and amount of food. The atmosphere is authentically Portuguese, local and homely. Reservations are possible between 5:30 and 7:30 PM, but they were fully booked about a week ahead, so waiting in line was our only option. It was 100% worth the wait!

Too long a wait, impossible to get a meal… Don't waste your time, the queue has been there for two hours, it's very poorly managed.

Great service and top-notch mixed cataplana!

Important Notice! Online reservations are not accepted! (Go early) Ask them to omit the cilantro! (For a more perfect taste) Cash is a must! (No card payments) Since the Mix contains meat, I think it would be better to choose a different menu item from the Cataplana menu, so please select that! The portions are substantial, so if you don't eat a lot, you don't need to order too much! Everything was delicious, and my parents loved it too! Even when we arrived around 5 PM, there were already 4 groups ahead of us, so I recommend going early and lining up. This was a special case today, but from the moment 6 to 8 American women of Southeast Asian descent started lining up until we finished eating inside, they were so loud that it was distracting and annoying throughout the meal. The other elderly people and young couples around us all gave them disapproving looks, but they continued to be loud... So, I deducted 1 point for the atmosphere score. I don't think it would have been an issue on a different day.

We went on the recommendation of many locals in the area. We had a long wait of two and a half hours since we didn't have a reservation and it wasn't entirely clear how the queue worked. If the people are friendly, it's quite pleasant. There are also several shops nearby where you can buy drinks and enjoy a bit of pear (a local expression meaning something like "pear" or "beach"). When we arrived, one of the waiters immediately apologized for the long wait and was incredibly kind. The food arrived very quickly, and we were immediately delighted with the generous portions—just two dishes for three people—and how delicious it was. I recommend it 100%. If you're an impatient person, don't go because if you don't have a reservation, you'll have to wait.
