Rooms could use an update. Not enough outlets for charging etc.

This hotel is terrible. The receptionist speaks very rudely, and the windows in my room don't open fully or close completely, so of course I can't see the view, and I can't close them to avoid the noise and sleep. The breakfast is also very bad.

Beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are needing a little TLC but was told thats in the pipeline. Situated beside the river Ness straight across from Inverness Castle. Absolutely stunning. Short walk across the bridge and thats you at the shops and restaurants/ bars. I will be back. Thats a promise

Stayed here for a night, the room was a good size. I paid extra for a river view, but the window was very small, so the room was pretty dark. I wanted a relaxing night before doing Etape Loch Ness the next day. Things were going well until I decided to have a shower. Soon as I turned the water on, it was obvious that if I left it on for even 30 seconds longer, the whole bathroom would be flooded, so I couldn’t have a shower. My husband went down to reception and the receptionist said she would get someone to have a look. 40 minutes later she came upstairs to look at it. She then went away, came back 20 minutes later with a key to their only available empty room and said we could shower there. She offered free breakfast to say sorry. Obviously, having an early start, I couldn’t use this, because there’s no way I could eat at 5am. So much for a relaxing night… I emailed them the next day and heard nothing for over 2 weeks, so I chased it. I got a response from the General Manager to say it was an old hotel with old plumbing , so water would drain slower than a domestic plumbing system would. Longer? This wasn’t just longer. If I left the water on any longer, the whole bathroom would have been flooded, as well as the carpet just outside the bathroom. The carpet was already damp from previous guests flooding it. The whole room smelt of damp because of this. So, this wasn’t just a “slow drainage” issue. That room should not be sold to people, because the shower is totally unusable. For paying what we did, you would expect hotel standards and not hostel standards when you have to go elsewhere to have a shower in the middle of the night…
