Great location and lovely views of the river from our room. Everything was well provided in the room. We had a meal at the restaurant as well and enjoyed it thoroughly. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious!

Really run-down. A shame. Everything is old: furniture, paint, carpets. I don't recommend it at all. The room was spacious and the river view was beautiful. The sheets and towels were clean. The breakfast was basic.

The Mercure is looking very old & tired, the room was small & the hygiene side of the hotel is non existent. My wife’s tea did not agree with her & there was no toilet brush, when we asked reception staff they stated they don’t have one. Way overpriced for what you actually get and the heating did not work and as it was 12 degrees overnight, when we told the staff, they brought in a portable heater. Being above the Main Street, the noise of the nightlife below was extremely loud until at least 1.00am and then the building site next door started even though we were on the top floor. We expected more as the name Mercure usually means top class. The price certainly indicated this, but in reality the property charges the high price but does not deliver. L.Boyle
