About this place Klub Tiffany

Klub Tiffany is Ljubljana's flagship gay club, inside the Metelkova mesto autonomous cultural centre — a former Yugoslav army barracks turned alternative arts complex just north of the railway station. Run by Kulturni center Q (part of the veteran SKUC association), Tiffany has anchored the city's queer nightlife since the 1990s and hosts parties, DJ nights and cultural events, mainly on Fridays and Saturdays. The crowd is friendly and mixed — gay men, queer locals and travellers — and the atmosphere is unpretentious, in keeping with Metelkova's DIY spirit. Alongside the neighbouring lesbian-and-queer club Monokel, Tiffany forms the heart of Ljubljana's gay scene. I was denied entry based solely on my appearance, which felt discriminatory and unfair. The bouncer made an assumption about me and my friends before even speaking to us. I fully respect that this is a queer space—I am part of the LGBTQ+ community myself—but that didn’t seem to matter in her decision. What was especially disappointing is that my friends, who came with full respect for the space, were also judged and turned away. They left feeling singled out and unwelcome, which goes against the inclusive spirit a queer venue should aim to foster. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that entry policies are applied in a way that reflects true inclusivity rather than stereotypes.
