Ljubljana Pride is Slovenia's annual LGBTQ+ celebration, held every June in the Slovenian capital. In a country that achieved same-sex marriage equality in 2022 — the first in former Yugoslavia — the march has the atmosphere of a city that has genuinely embraced LGBTQ+ rights rather than merely tolerating them. The event draws around 10,000 participants along a route through the old town, with no significant counter-demonstration presence and broad mainstream participation. Ljubljana Pride week includes film screenings, panel discussions, art exhibitions and community dinners at venues throughout the city.
