About This Event
The FIRE!!! Barcelona LGTBIQ+ Film Festival turns 31 in 2026. This was Spain’s first film festival for queer cinema, and it still runs a wide program of features, documentaries, and short films. They look at sexual diversity through cultural, cinematic, and social lenses.
The 2026 theme is "a thousand and one queer stories." Expect a strong focus on Arab and Persian cinema, plus sections for trans cinema, international films, and new directors.
Most screenings happen at the French Institute of Barcelona. Casal Lambda organizes the festival, which has become a good place to see auteur films, and to talk about diversity, memory, activism, and creative freedom.
The French Institute is at 8 Moià Street, easy to get to on public transport. You can buy tickets and season passes through Codetickets; a five-film pass costs €30. Check the schedule for specific sessions. Some might include director Q&As or accessible subtitles.
