Great place to stay, right in the middle of the old town.

Excellent service Very friendly Phenomenal room

A spectacular hotel, from the friendly and helpful staff to the large, comfortable rooms with thoughtful touches, and a fantastic, incredibly comfortable bed. The terrace in the room and the one upstairs are a real treat, the location is exceptional, and the breakfast is wonderful, high-quality, and exquisitely prepared. Everything was perfect; you feel even better than at home.

I think that it is a bit of a push to describe this as 5 star. It is in a great location, the room was nice and clean and the hotel had some interesting decorations. However, as others have said, our room was noisy. The road below was loud so if you’re a light sleeper it would be difficult. Also, our hot water was a little temperamental. After I had a shower we had to wait 10 mins for it to warm up for my partner. Also, the breakfast had some nice parts, fresh bread, nice cheese. But the hot dishes weren’t that warm and one of the croissants we had was very stale. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly. Parking cost €15 euros per day, I’m not sure if I missed that on the ad, and after we checked out we wanted to have a coffee before we left and so asked if we could leave the car for an hour. The woman who served us told us no, because someone else was coming into the space. I was a little dubious about it because this was at 11am and as check-in isn’t until 3 I didn’t really believe that someone was coming into the space then. While there was a language barrier, I felt that she didn’t try to help us and just said no - she didn’t offer alternative solutions where we could park. I mention this because I see that there are a few complaints about the service. I should say that the woman who checked us and was there during the week was great - I would give her 5 stars. Unfortunately the staff there on the weekend did let down the team which is why I’m giving service a 3/5. Nothing was a huge deal on its own, but, as others have said, I don’t think this hotel can call itself 5 star and it’s a little pricey for what it is. I share this feedback because I do think all of this can be addressed (particularly the service) and it would be a really lovely hotel.

Fabulous brunch on Sundays

I had the pleasure of having breakfast at this wonderful place. It's an old building converted into a tranquil hotel with nine suites and wonderful facilities. The grounds are like a small art gallery, filled with sculptures and paintings that make for an unforgettable visual experience. The breakfast was varied and exquisite, in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I can't finish this review without praising the young man who served us. A gem of an employee and person. Helpful, kind, attentive, detail-oriented... the kind of professional anyone would want in their business. Thank you, Gerardo, you're a 10 out of 10 and you undoubtedly add a great deal of value to your guests' experience. I hope they take good care of you and don't let you go because you're worth your weight in gold, my friend. We will definitely return in the future. Congratulations to the hotel manager for keeping the hotel so well maintained and managed. I will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect: very spacious room, exceptional breakfast, and a perfect location. The only downside was the cleanliness, which left much to be desired for a 4-star hotel. The floors were always dirty, and there was no vacuum cleaner or mop.

Alert: I don't agree that they are nicer with their guests than with their non-guests, as they arrogantly affirmed on a rude response to another review (btw, the way they react to any critic that is made on other reviews just show how rude those people can be). In my opinion, this hotel has the worst management ever. Being a travel agent myself, who have been to lots of hotels worldwide, I must admit I’ve never seen such a poorly managed hotel (IF we can call it a hotel, because for me it is actually more like a hostel). If you are considering a stay there, please keep in mind, at least from my experience, that whoever is in the management position will cowardly run away (literally) from any issue the guests might have. During our terrible stay, the negligent management tried to throw all the responsibility of everything that went wrong on the back of their poorly trained staff (which is also a strong sign of how this place is terribly managed). It's noticeable how the staff there seems unhappy with their jobs. No smiles, no warm greetings... The way we felt this hotel is managed is such a shame to Gran Canaria tourism (the island is full of beautiful places and nice people; it's the hotel that differs from all the rest, giving us a feeling of how it might have been during the inquisition period instead of being a warm and welcoming place). Some other important things to mention about our stay: 1- 4 days without hot water. Be extra careful, especially if you are staying on room #1. They don’t know how to solve this issue, and the manager will aggressively say that they cannot get anyone to go there fix it during your whole stay. 2- they don’t replace the toilet paper in the room. If you dare to ask them for more, they will laugh at you, just like some high school bullies. 3- the bath towels have a very bad quality. You can see it through the pictures attached to this review. And according to a young guy who is one of the poorly trained staff members of this place, the hotel will charge you if you ask for any additional towel. 4- and if you dare to ask for an additional towel, the manager will interrogate you like the police, asking why do you need another towel, saying that this is not what normal people do. The hotel works like a prison. The staff seem to think they are the security guards from a detention facility. It’s a joke that this place claim to be 5-star. We felt that even a dirty roadside motel is better managed than this place. We've been to more than 100 countries, with different experiences regarding hotels worldwide, and we've never felt so disrespected. I can easily say this was the worst place we've ever stayed.

My wife felt intimidated by some staff members of this hotel, including the manager. She was treated very badly by them, who not only laughed at her but also intimidated her in more than one occasion. We didn't feel a minimum sense of the true meaning of hospitality in this hotel. The staff seem to have no training at all and seemed clearly unhappy with their jobs, adopting an aggressive approach to their own guests. They refer themselves as a 5-star hotel, but a true 5-star hotel would never intimidate their guests and would never be so uncapable of dealing with any issues. They also claim to be ecologically correct, but the amenities in the room are all on small plastic recipients, which are replaced almost every day, even though they are still almost full. Why not putting a shampoo/conditioner and shower gel dispenser, like most modern and ecological hotels do nowadays?

A very pleasant and welcoming place. The facilities are beautiful, well-maintained, and offer great comfort. The view of the cathedral from the terrace is simply magnificent and makes the stay even more special. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive; in particular, the manager, Lucía, who was always available to answer our questions and help us. The breakfast is excellent, varied, and of very high quality. We will definitely be back.
